2. Write a 3- to 4- paragraphs analysis. Define the icons in the first paragraph, briefly discuss why

 The 3 contemporary icons that I am going to talk today are very different in their personality. The first one I have in mind is Jesus Christ, icon that represents the faith of all Catholic people here on earth. The second icon I will talk about is Barack Obama, actual president of the United State of America, icon of the black community. Finally, Elvis Presley, one of the most popular American singers of the 20th century.

Icons are symbolic - they represent something in our culture, history or way of life. This is why I choose Jesus Christ. Because I am a Catholic, I believe that God gave his own son in sacrifice to save us, Human. Jesus is an iconic figure for me also because he is a man of happiness, a man of sorrow, a man of forgiveness, a man of peace. He represents many things for me, he is an example I want to follow, I put my faith in him.

Icons are recognizable in a crowd. You certainly have heard at least once about them. This is why I choose Barack Obama, actual president of the United States of America. Barack Obama is the man of the people, the first and only one black president of the first super power that is the USA. This is a big deal. He is definitely a great leader, a good speaker, and most of the people think that Obama is “cool”. I like his personality, his style and his manner. Because of him, as a personal experience, I change my phone to a Blackberry when I discovered that Obama used the same brand of phone. These are reasons why I think that he is an icon.

Icons are fascinating and surprising. Elvis Aaron Presley was widely known and he fascinated many people. Even after his death, 34 years ago, he is still the King of Rock and Roll. No questions ask. I was not born even conceived when Elvis Presley died, but I know how enthusiastic my parents and their friend were when they listen from one of Elvis Presley melodies. I watched a movie about his life, I liked some of his songs, but some people are really fanatics of the King. People are still wearing cloths like him, singing like him, partying during his birthday and even during his death anniversary. Elvis Presley is an Icon, and he will still be.
